In the Hawaiian language, “Makana” translates to “gift” or “offering.”
Our name reflects the deeply-rooted spirit of aloha and propensity to give amongst the people of Hawaii. We focus on two key areas, both with the theme of improving conditions and circumstances of the homeless across the islands.
OUR TWO KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:
We provide hygiene essentials to improve the health of unsheltered homeless individuals.
We improve circumstances of homeless families and children in emergency housing by funding special projects.
